The Botanical Society Annual Trip - 2007 |
We organized the Botanical Society annual trip to Habarana, Ritigala and Kurunegala on the 13th and 14th of October 2007. About 45 students and several academic staff members participated making the event a success.We were able to visit "Arankale" and the "Ritigala SNR" during our journey.

The Plant Exhibition and Plant Sale |
The annual plant sale and exhibition of the Botanical Society (2007/08) of University of Colombo was held on the 23rd of November 2007. Variety of plants including ornamentals, medicinal plants and fruit plants were exhibited for sale. The plant sale was mainly open to the university community. At the end it was praised by all as a a successful fund raising activity.

As a fund raising event a film show was organized on the 29th of November 2007 at the KG hall, Faculty of Science. Two famous hindi movies, “Saawariya” and “Om Shanti Om” were shown on wide screen and we received a very good response from the students.
