Undergraduate Programmes

The Department of Demography offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The undergraduate courses comprise of three years General Degree and four years Special Degree in Demography. The Special Degree is for a limited number of students who do extremely well in first year Demography courses and foundation course in Mathematics. Students who follow Special Degree in Demography are given opportunity to obtain internship experience which would help them to get an exposure in working with organization such as Department of Census and Statistics, Department of Registrar general, Social Security  Board, Department of Immigration and Emigration, People’s Bank, Department of Labour, etc. More than 1000 undergraduate students follow Demography courses in each year.
