The Department has begun a research program on the theme "Power,
Democracy and Conflict". Supported by a grant from NUFU, Norway, it seeks to
promote quality research in order to fill the gaps in the existing democracy
studies in Sri Lanka.
This research program is also a part of the collaboration
between University of Oslo, University of Gadja Mada, Indonisia
and
University of Colombo,.
