Chamathka Devasirie (22) is a third year undergraduate, specializing in Sociology for her Bachelor of Arts degree program, at the University of Colombo.

She is an active member of the working committee of Human Resources Enhancement Initiative (HREI) of the Faculty of Arts, funded by the QEF, a World Bank Project, and is a member of the University Swimming Team.

She is presently preparing for the Diploma in Pianoforte offered by the London College of Music, UK, and pursues part time diploma programs for Hindi Language and also ‘Katak’, an Indian dance form, conducted by the Indian Cultural Center, Colombo.

Having excelled in studies as well as in sports, at Musaeus College, Colombo, where she obtained her primary and secondary education, Chamathka had chosen Arts to pursue her higher studies, which she believes is one of her greatest decisions. She has been selected to represent the Faculty of Arts in a student exchange program with La Trobe University, Melbourne.
