Orientation programme for internship

Objectives of the programme

  1. What is expected from the Intern Medical Officer (IMO) during the clinic (common presentations, skills required)
  2. What is expected from an IMO during a casualty (common presentations, skills required)
  3. Preparation for the ward round and how to present to consultants.
  4. Communication skills : with patients/relations, staff, over the phone communication with senior colleagues (with relevant examples)
  5. Documentation (with relevant examples)
  6. Contribution to research and academic activities of the ward
  7. Future development as a professional
  8. Any other relevant matters
