ABOUT US

The Medical Students’ Welfare Society is unique on its own as it is the only one of its kind among the Medical Faculties of Sri Lanka.

The MSWS is involved in various welfare and recreational activities within the Faculty.

Some of its activities include, 

• Maintaining the MSWS computer room which is accessible 24 hours of all seven days of the week.
• Maintaining the Student Research Support Centre, which provides students with computer, printing and superfax facilities.
• Maintaining a lending library which has a large collection of periodicals, magazines, novels etc.
• Providing financial assistance for student activities. e.g. Freshers’ day, BLOC celebrations.
• Providing facilities for recreational sports within the faculty -  Billiards,  Table Tennis and Carrom.
• Maintaining the TV room with cable TV.
• Running a photocopy service and stationary shop.
• Providing educational material for students, e.g. Model question papers
• Providing assistance to other societies within the Faculty, e.g. DVDs to the CD library, Sports goods to the Sports Association, financial assistance to other societies.
• Organizing an annual Faculty trip by train.

 The Medical Students’ Welfare Society is elected annually.
