Training Programmes
Department of Pathology plays a major role in conducting undergraduate as well as well as postgraduate training programmes.Training of cytoscreeners and training of laboratory staff in pathology are other services provided by our department.
Undergraduate training
The Department staff conduct lectures and practicals to the undergraduates in the following streams.
Introductory Basic Sciences Stream
Applied Sciences Stream
The staff take part in conducting lectures in all the modules of the Applied Sciences Stream.

The staff conducts practical classes/fixed learning modules for the Cardiovascular System, Gastrointestinal Tract, Nephrology, Central Nervous System,Respiratory System,Immunology and Infectious and Parasitic Disease modules.

Postgraduate training is another educational service provided by the staff of the Department of Pathology.The trainees are prepared for the following examinations.

Lectures for postgraduates in other specialities
Cytoscreening
Prof. M.D.S Lokuhetty coordinated the training and the assessment of the 2007 batch of cytoscreeners(26) for the National cervical Cancer screening programme under the auspices of the Family Health bureau, funded by the UNFPA.
Training of Laboratory staff
Laboratory pathology technicians from other departments such as the the Department of Anatomy and the Department of Forensic Medicine are also trained in our Department.
