THE CAREER GUIDANCE UNIT WAS CREATED WITH THE VISION……                                                 

of providing and training for University of Colombo undergraduates to  embark on an optimal career and develop the necessary transferable skills including attitude, motivation and skills necessary to become efficient members of the workforce.

After investing on sixteen years of free education, the state expects a significant contribution from today’s graduates to the development of the country.

When Were We Created?

November 1997, through the initiative created by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Sri Lanka. The unit functions directly under the VC. Financial support for programmes by VC, Prof. Tilak Hettiarachchi is greatly acknowledged.

Infrastructure

Three roomed building space, five computers, Projectors, a multimedia projector, scanners, printers, photocopier, TV,  etc.

Library

Informational booklets, CDs, books and other reading materials related to soft skill development are available at the CGU. The students are requested to make use of these facilities.
