Islamic Day 2016
Muslim Majlis of University of Colombo was established in 1973 and since then Islamic day program is celebrated annually in different theme.
ISLAMIC DAY 2016’ – the Annual prize giving ceremony and publication of 10th edition of the ‘AL-FIKR’ magazine, organized by the Muslim Majlis was concluded successfully on 4th day of June 2016 at the New Arts Theatre, University of Colombo.
Hon. Justice A.H.M.D. Nawas, Judge of the Court of Appeal of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Prof. Athula Ranasinghe, Dean, Faculty of Arts was the Guest of Honour (Representing Prof. Lakshman Dissanayake, Vice Chancellor of the University).
More than 500 participants along with School and University students added colours to the event. Awarding prizes for competitors was valued this event further.
